Legend of ye old Youtube days. Was banned severely in 2006. Not anymore!!
if holder made a mistake, it was in putting a broad brush to his accusation. i do think (if you actually paid attention to what he was saying ) that he was taking the politically correct crowd to task, and rightfully so. they are always tring to cover up our differences and make us all the same. i must say that many on the extreme right like maulkin constantly speak out and show you where their bias and hatred are, and they do not hide their contempt for those who are not like them.
ignorance should be out in the light where we can all see it. we will never know how bad our problems are or who to reach out to and help if we shut everybody up. which means we cannot start to fix these problems.
other than the broad brush of blame, holder was entirely correct. we should all be able to speak freely on this. not just a select few. and we should start now.

Yes, anyone who objects to free rides, historical revisionism, and the extremist left, is extreme right, biased, and a hater who does not hide their contempt for those not like them. [eyeroll]

you need to look up the word –bias “Anonymous” and then look back at your own comment. you just managed to confirm one of my points. as for your comment, i could have gone to maulkin’s outright contempt for all muslims and her support for locking up japanese americansin WWII, as well as many other misteps in myopia from maulkin but that was not my goal.
why did you confirm it? because in your statement it is conveyed that anyone or everyone from the left is always wrong or always bad. that is a bias, and like all other bias is not based on solid fact or historical accuracy. that is no different from one saying that all people oj the right are wrong or evil. that would be an outright lie and a bias.
not all right wingers publicly dsiplay contempt for groups different from them and not all liberals try to supress using politically correct tactics. many of both of these ecamps do however display such poor behavior.
we have problems here with race (as well as other divisions like political ideology) and a huge chunk of america, wants to have everyone not mention the subjerct (largely the left). if you disagree with what i have just said now, let’s hear it out in the light.
this time try and stay focused on the topic and if you can do it, avoid spinning the conversation.

Having read the entire text of Mr. Holders “Nation of Cowards” speech I find myself in agreement with his comments. Too many Americans shy away from intellgent conversations about race. Even among friends it’s an uncomfortable subject to pursue, and I don’t mean just between black and white people I mean all ethnicities. Race and racism is something that needs to be addressed and the best place to start the conversation is with our young people in our education system.

To Anonymous.. AMEN brother (or sister)..while I do not consider myself a racist, I do have a serious problem with “Gangsta” rap music, the young black males I see hanging out all day on their cell phones not in school nor do they have a job because they are too damn lazy to get one,(why should they when drug dealing earns them so much more) and all the single black mothers living with THEIR mothers in this neighborhood. While I could go on and on, these are the facts and if you want honesty this is it. Stop blaming all your damn problems on racisim and deal with the real issuues.

Ms. Independent, we had a young man beaten to death near scranton here last year. the young men who beat up this young man and killed him did not know him personally. all these men knew was that he looked like he was a mexican.
if you read the full text of holders speech he was not blaming racism for the problems of blacks. he was stating that our divisions are a serious problem that should be talked about openly and not hidden.
if you do not think such ignorance is causing major problems go tell that to the family of the dead young man.

Gish: You’re the one who needs to buy a dictionary and learn to read better, pal. You confirmed my comment that people of your political ilk are intolerant of any other view but your own.
This post has noting to do with Malkin yet you keep interjecting her into the discussion. So, don’t lie and say it was not your goal. I will not even try to explain the legal argument in support of internment to you, which was around long before Malkin wrote her book, because it is sure to sail well over your politically correct head.
I merely mimicked your way of thinking in my post and immediately it got your panties in a twist. Don’t like having a mirror held up to you, I see. The only thing I confirmed is that you are a hypocrite and intolerant.
You certainly displayed your contempt for anyone who isn’t a total leftard. No, we don’t have problems here with race. We do have problems with people using it a club or scam for financial and political gain.
I suggest you look up focus in your new dictionary. You are the one who went off topic with your b.s.

Great. Some noob calls for an honest discussion and when Ms. Independent gives an honest and legitimate opinion and observation, Rev. Spinmeister deflects it. Hypocrite.

Oh my goodness anonymous, tooooo many Remron for you today
maulkin was a sidebar and not the central point in my comments. anyone reading my comments can clearly see that if the foam from their mouth is not getting in their eyes. you actually seized on my maulkin reference in your first comment an amped it up, you are the one that brought her up again yourself. bad part for you is that you only displayed her bias for anyone who was a liberal, i did not bring that subject up you did. you totally ignore that i also trashed political correctness, and the behavior of many liberals.
as for my bias that you speak of, i clearly pointed the finger at both sides, and anyone who is sane can clearly see that as well. not at one side, but both sides.
you may accuse of me of having a bias towards most uber liberals and conservatives. that might be fair, but I think most rational people would be worried about anyone who cannot think without first consulting their talking points memo. . but to accuse me based solely on this thread of tilting one way or the other clearly shows you not only have serious problems with comprehension, but perhaps dance frequently in ballrooms that do not exist anywhere other than your own mind.
What I was addressing was ignorance of human beings in this country and holders attempt to put a spotlight on it. You showed up at just the right time to stand in that spotlight.
People with open minds will clearly see that. As for those who’s minds are closed, there is no reaching them anyway so I could care less about their reaction.
as for your comment about deflection, my last sentance above covers that. don’t worry that you do not get it. i certainly will not have any trouble sleeping despite your inadequacies.

Nothing is worse than you dorks who claim to be fair because they criticize both sides. You’re not.
Talk about being ignorant! The subject is Holder, Holder’s speech, race, and his comments in the speech calling Americans cowards. You are trying to spin it into fifty million directions to justify you coming here and dropping your turds. Someone, i.e., Ms. Independent attempts to engage you and you imply she has a closed mind. Obviously, you are the christian whacko that flywheel was referring to.

To Reverend Gisher: Meaning no disrespect sir, but your comments are Excatly what I mean.I comment honestly here on what I see everyday in my neighborhood and that makes me racially ignorant? I in no way, shape form or fashion condone that kind of racial violence.I was merely pointing out what causes the racial divide in MY neighborhood..and I do believe that black on black crime is a far more serious problem in this country..Soledad O’Brien did a show on CNN called Black in America..I think people should watch the re-run coming up soon.. excellent reporting..

you can continue flainging away at me with what little god gave you. i am happy to stand on what i have said here. and now that you have referred to me as a christian whacko you have added not only another bias of yours to the list for all to see, but you have also proved that you shoot off your mouth without any bother to verify your suppositions with proof.
chistian whacko. i might be a black lesbian midget for all you know.

I just posted about this on my blog…
I want to know if Holder has stated anything like this before or if he is just feeling “safe” to say this now that he is Attorney General. I haven’t followed him in the news, so I am unaware if this is a position he has taken for some time or if it is a new stance/position.
Can anyone answer that for me?

as for you ms independant, are you actually saying to me that we do not have any problems with ignorance based on race in this country?
are all blacks bad?
are all liberals bad and wrong?
are all conservatives crazy and mean?
are religious people…..um….whackos?
clear this up for me. it sounds like you are blowing off the death of the young man i referenced like it was insignificant.
i will try not to assume till you fill in the blanks.

The issue with Holder is he thinks our country isn’t talking enough about race issues. To which I say, “bullshit.” We’re talking plenty. In fact, at times, talking about race is all the Democrat party wants to do. Although, oddly enough, during his campaign for President, Mr. Obama didn’t want to talk about race…interesting.
At this time in our history, the only thing holding black people down/back/under (pick your preposition) is black people themselves and their culture. Continuing to blame “institutional racism”, “whitey”, or “racially biased standardized testing” is just an exercise in perpetuating a victim mentality that has become the bread and butter of Democrats and race hustlers (yeah, I’m looking at your Sharpton and Jackson).

I operate from the you build it and they will come theory, and they did. the only way to break the soundbite mentality, is to walk away from it. if enough people do, there will not be a choice.
